Haifa is located on a peninsula on Israel’s western coast, on the shores of the Mediterranean, approximately 95km north of Tel Aviv.

Climate in Haifa

The climate in Haifa is typically southern Mediterranean, and temperate all year round, with daytime temperatures in winter rarely dropping below 10 degrees celsius. Nights during winter can get cold. Summers are warm and more humid than in the south of the country.

Best Time to go

The best time to go for a beach holiday in Haifa is undoubtedly during the summer, and July and August along with Jewish holidays are peak dates in the city. May, June, September and October are great times to go as the weather remains warm, but the city is less crowded. There’s also plenty to do in Haifa away from the beach – and these museums and sights can be enjoyed at any time of year.
Haifa holds several festivals throughout the year; most noticeably the wine and cheese festival held each May/June, the puppet festival and beer festival in late August, and the ‘Festival of Festivals’, held every December and celebrating each of the city’s 6 main religions, their coexistence and mutual respect.
